Yosemite National Park

Fallen Tree

Today we drove to Yosemite National Park to visit the giant Sequoia trees and to see the views we have heard so much about. We started in the Sequoia National Forest, 6000 ft above sea level, the weather was beautiful so we hiked the 2.5 miles up the mountain then back down again. We weren’t expecting snow but there was loads of it, it was a lovely walk, the trees were humungous and some had fallen over exposing their giant roots. We stopped half way to eat some lunch on a tiny bench, there was nobody around, all you could hear were some birds and a waterfall!

After the hike we drove to Bridal Veil Falls which is a huge waterfall in a beautiful setting. As we got closer to it we felt the water spraying off and the closer we got the heavier it became. We got quite drenched but it was worth it for the photo’s. There was an amazing full rainbow through the bottom, it was very pretty! We then drove to Yosemite Falls and saw some of the Merced River.
