Henry Cowell Redwood State Park

We left Carmel Valley at lunch time to drive to San Francisco, our last stop of the trip. It was a three hour drive, so we stopped half way at a beautiful redwood forest, similar to Muir Woods. We did the smaller trail, but saw some amazing trees, the tallest being about 84m tall, over 4.5m wide, and nearly 1,500 years old. Summie found a great stick to walk round with!

We continued to San Fransisco and arrived at the Argonaut hotel in Fishermans Wharf. It’s very well located, with a view of both Alcatraz island and the Golden Gate bridge. This evening we grabbed some sushi, took a trip on the trolley up the hill and found a great park that was built inside San Fransisco’s first reservoir.
