Cement overload

Yesterday was really hard work and we didn’t feel overly productive. Today however was great, we basically spent the whole day mixing cement and filling in the trenches around the metal rods. We also had a new guy on site called Jesus who showed us the cement mixing ropes and helped carry the heavy materials. We managed to fill in all the trenches by the end of the day and even stayed a bit late to make sure they were finished! We can really see the house coming together now and I think the bricks will be started tomorrow.

After work we went to the pub for a drink that turned into a few too many! We were all drinking and in hysterics reflecting on the days events. Poor Chalkie bought some new work shoes in San Jose and they fell to pieces after just one day and now look like flippers! We laughed about the pointless tasks we have performed and how much we can’t wait to get to the hotel in Manuel Antonio on Friday. Me and Paul left about 7pm and went home for dinner but the others stayed on and had more beer. When we left them they were very merry so hopefully they will make it to work tomorrow morning!
